METHOD
The Mayron Cole* method is currently the leading class piano method in the country. It is a positive approach that includes games as a way to reinforce concepts and skills. This is the main approach that is used. Songs and some techniques from the Alfred series are used. Methods and songs developed by Theresa Villec are also incorporated into the lessons. The objective is to provide a fun atmosphere in which the kids will want to practice and learn!
CLASS SIZE
The Mayron Cole Method works for all class size...up to 30 or 40. At Music Makers, the class size is usually 4- 6.
MATERIAL
Keyboards are provided during class. The students need to bring their music and a folder to every class.
RECITAL
Class piano students put on at least one performancein May and may also perform in December. They perform as a group which takes away the pressures associated with a traditional recital. All students are invited to perform in the annual formal recital.
