The following is an excerpt from "Steps to Learning" by Anne Haacke".  The entire piece can be found at www.sandycain.com:

"Best of all, this piano method (Mayron Cole) is motivating! The students come to piano lessons prepared and ready to learn more! There’s a real team spirit, and friendships have developed in some of the classes. The students also learn from each other and have become great little accompanists since they are so used to playing with a group. Plus, it’s good training for those students who enjoy using their piano skills to play for church. Because the method is so structurally sound, I don’t have to constantly go back and "correct things" like I’ve had to do with other methods...."
I have personally taught group lessons as well as private lessons for years.  I was trained to teach general music in classrooms from grades K - High School, and have taught K - 8 classrooms for 10 years.

Group settings are more  energizing and stimulating for students.  Best of all group learning is highly motivational!  Students want to do as well (or better) than their peers.  This certainly entices them to practice on a more regular (and passionate) basis.
